Several K-pop stars have come together to release a heartfelt tribute song titled Moon, marking the second death anniversary of ASTRO member Moonbin.
The song, released on 19 April 2025, is led by Moonbin’s group ASTRO and includes contributions from former ASTRO member Rocky, as well as Moonbin’s younger sister Moon Sua, a member of the girl group Billlie.
Moon features an emotional lineup of artists who were known to be close friends of Moonbin, including the members of female trio VIVIZ; SEVENTEEN’s Hoshi, Wonwoo, Mingyu, DK, and Seungkwan; MONSTA X’s Minhyuk, Kihyun, and I.M; Stray Kids leader Bang Chan; SF9’s Chani; soloist Hello Gloom; and former Weki Meki members Choi Yoojung and Kim Doyeon.
The song’s lyrics convey messages of longing, remembrance, and hope. Among the lines shared with fans are:
“When the moon door opens, will you be standing there?
A happy face greeting me with a bright smile
Memories of the past days with you
When I miss you, I’ll knock every night on the door of my dreams.”
“Don’t leave, don’t drift away
I shout until my voice gives out
When I look at the night sky
Tell me I’m living my life alright.”
Moonbin, who was beloved for his talent and warm personality, was found dead in his home in Seoul on 19 April 2023. He was 25 years old.
His passing sent shockwaves through the K-pop community, and his memory and talent continue to be honored by friends, fans, and fellow artists alike.
