Filipina beauty queen Alexie Mae Brooks continues to shine in the pre-pageant events of Miss Eco International 2025, currently being held in Egypt.

In her recent Instagram post, Brooks unveiled her national costume inspired by the ecological richness of the West Philippine Sea. The ensemble, designed by Filipino artist Tata Pinuela, highlights the sea’s vibrant marine biodiversity and serves as a visual call to action for environmental conservation.

“The West Philippine Sea is an ecological treasure, teeming with unique aquatic life, rich coral reefs, and essential biological resources. Covering an area nearly the size of Mindanao, its reefs represent about 30% of the country’s coral habitats, underscoring its vast natural wealth. Despite this, pollution—particularly from non-biodegradable waste—continues to threaten its biodiversity."

This national costume pays homage to this critical ecosystem. Crafted as the West Philippine Sea Eco Wear, it symbolizes our responsibility to recycle, preserve, and protect our environment. The headpiece, inspired by the luminous pearls of the Orient Seas, reflects our collective commitment to safeguard these natural wonders and embrace our roles as true Eco Warriors.”

Brooks has been gaining momentum in the competition. She recently finished as first runner-up to Canada in the talent competition, where she wowed the audience with her vocal performance.

She also secured a spot in the Top 10 of the Resort Wear Prime competition, turning heads in a mustard-hued two-piece swimsuit. The round was ultimately won by Great Britain.

With confidence and purpose, Brooks is vying to bring home the Philippines’ third Miss Eco International crown, following the footsteps of past winners Kathleen Paton and Cynthia Thomalla.

Last year’s representative, Chantal Schmidt, earned a first runner-up finish behind Ukraine’s Angelina Usanova.

The Miss Eco International 2025 coronation night will be held on 20 April in Egypt.
