“Making Manila Great Again.”

This is the vision Isko Moreno aims to fulfill as he leads the mayoral race in the City of Manila following the 12 May elections.

Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso received the highest number of votes, securing a return to City Hall with a total of 430,334 votes, according to partial and unofficial data from the Comelec media server as of 5:02 AM on 13 May.

For Moreno, his comeback is both unexpected and overwhelming, following his previous term as mayor from 2019 to 2022.

“Nakakagulat. Na-overwhelm kami and shocked. But we really appreciate it. It’s a huge challenge because of the great mandate given to us—Chi-Chi (Atienza) and I—and I think about 80 percent of our party mates also won in this election,” he shared during a media briefing on Tuesday morning.

Moreno’s former ally, incumbent Mayor Honey Lacuna, who was seeking reelection after one term, garnered 152,283 votes. She was followed by Sam Verzosa with 132,435 votes.

As part of his renewed commitment, Moreno expressed deep gratitude to the people of Manila and reiterated his promise to restore the city’s former glory.

“Maraming, maraming salamat, mga Batang Maynila. I hope we can fix the city again. We’re very optimistic—with the help of the people of Manila, we can make Manila great again,” he said.
