A security guard from a fast-food chain in Pampanga was arrested by police operatives Monday morning in Bagumbong, Caloocan City, following a warrant for rape.
The suspect, identified as alias “Rey,” is considered the tenth most wanted individual in the Police Regional Office in Region 12.
PSSG Honeybelle Data of the Special Operations Unit of the Northern Police District said that the Arakan Municipal Police Station coordinated with the Northern Police District upon receiving a report that the suspect is residing in North Caloocan.
“Our suspect is allegedly involved in raping his mother-in-law in Cotabato around 2019, who was already at late 40’s when the crime took place,” Data said.
Rey is facing two counts of rape, which was issued by Judge Jose Yanalgo Tabusares of the 12th Judicial Region of Branch 23 of Kidapawan City, in which there was no recommended bail.
The suspect denied the rape accusations, claiming that he was framed up by his relatives.
“I was framed by my mother-in-law. We’re always fighting because my wife is abroad, and she sends all the money and packages directly to me,” Rey said.
The suspect also expressed shock upon his arrest, insisting he did not commit the alleged crime.
He is currently detained at the Northern Police District Custodial Facility while the return of the warrant is being prepared to notify the issuing court.
