Former Northern Police District Director (NPD) and now incoming Manila Police District Director Brig. Gen. Arnold Abad told incoming NPD District Director Brig. Gen. Jerry Protacio to continue his uncompleted police projects.
In his message during the turnover ceremony at the NPD Headquarter in Caloocan City, the former director mentioned various projects including drone trainings and SWAT challenge.
“I’ll leave it to Sir [Brig. Gen. Protacio] to continue the project,” Abad said, as he thanked the policemen of the Northern Police District and the local government units.
Abad described his short-lived tenure as “fruitful.”
“Fruitful in a sense that I learned a lot from the members of NPD, I’ve seen how dedicated our policemen are,” the outgoing NPD director said.
Abad was assigned as the officer-in-charge of the NPD last 19 July, replacing Brig. Gen. Josefino Ligan.
National Capital Region Police Office Chief Maj. Gen. Anthony Aberin described the newly-installed director as a “well-defined and strict officer.”
Aberin and Protacio are both graduates of Philippine National Police Academy Class of 1993.
Protacio, who worked before under the Caloocan PNP, said that he will develop and strengthen the integrity of the Northern Police District and to ensure the implementation of 5-minute-response among its policemen.
Prior to his appointment as the officer-in-charge of the Northern Police District, Protacio headed the PNP-Human Rights Affairs Office.
