Philippine-based organization Team Secret comes up short against Thailand’s Talon Esports during its debut match in VCT Pacific Stage 1 held in Seoul, South Korea on Sunday night.

Led by Adrian “invy” Reyes, Team Secret immediately took the upper hand in its map pick of Pearl at the half, 7-5, before sweeping the second half of the round where they finished the first map, 13-5.

invy’s Vyse led the Filipino squad with a 21-9 kill-death record, followed by Jeremy “Jremy” Cabrera’s Yoru with a 20-12 kill-death record.

During the second map, Fracture, the Thai squad showed off their familiarity with the map, easily cruising to a 10-2 halftime lead, with Papaphat “primmie” Sriprapha towing Talon with 14 kills with the Thai duelist and the latest Valorant agent, Waylay.

Despite shifting to the attacker’s side, Secret was unable to land a single plant, eventually losing Fracture with a 13-2 score.

Jittana “JitboyS” Nokngam also made history as he logged his 1000th career kill in Fracture.

Heading to the Haven, the match’s decider map, the Filipino squad took the early lead in their defender side, being led by invy’s Cypher.

Talon’s Anupong “thyy” Preamsak and JitboyS, who played Omen and Cypher respectively, stepped up defensively, making the entry to Haven’s three sites more challenging for Secret’s initiator and duelist.

Even though Team Secret led in the first half, the Filipino team squandered its 7-5 halftime lead, eventually losing to Talon, 13-9.

Team Secret will next face the Japanese organization ZETA Division on Saturday.
