Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Marquez Dee is more than just a beauty queen; she’s a powerful advocate for empowerment, promoting both body positivity and the thoughtful use of modern technologies.

In a recent interview, Dee shared a refreshing perspective on the often-debated topics of cosmetic enhancements and self-love.

“It’s all about making choices that make you feel good about yourself,” Dee emphasized. “Body positivity is about loving yourself and doing what makes you happy.”

Her stance highlights the importance of individual autonomy and the freedom to pursue personal well-being, whether through self-acceptance or transformative procedures.

Dee acknowledges the reality of modern advancements, recognizing that “today’s technologies are game-changers for women.” She extends this beyond cosmetic enhancements, noting the transformative power of online learning platforms and social media.

“Women now have more ways to educate themselves, share their stories, and connect with others than ever before,” she explained. “It’s about harnessing these tools to support each other, grow our careers, and break barriers.”

Her openness about her own journey adds to her authenticity. On her Instagram broadcast channel, Dee candidly discussed her struggles with weight loss due to hormonal imbalances, despite maintaining a balanced diet and regular exercise.

She revealed that she utilized Belo treatments to achieve her desired physique, especially in preparation for the Miss Universe 2023 competition. This transparency resonates with many who face similar challenges, offering a relatable narrative in a world often dominated by unrealistic ideals.

Beyond her advocacy for body positivity and technological empowerment, Dee is deeply committed to social causes. Since the age of 16, she has been a passionate advocate for autism awareness and mental health education. Her work with the Center for Possibilities and the Autism Society Philippines showcases her dedication to supporting individuals with special needs and promoting inclusivity.

Notably, she was appointed Goodwill Ambassador for the Autism Society Philippines in January 2020.

Dee also champions hepatitis awareness through her family initiative, HepCured, and is a vocal supporter of LGBTQ+ rights in the Philippines. She recently shared her journey of coming out as bisexual, emphasizing the importance of authenticity and self-acceptance. “Come as you are,” she aptly posted, in anticipation of Pride Month.

Most recently, Dee was named one of the brand ambassadors for Luxxe White Ultima, alongside Rhian Ramos, further solidifying her position as a prominent figure of influence and empowerment in the Philippines. Her multifaceted advocacy, coupled with her genuine approach, makes Michelle Marquez Dee a powerful voice for positive change.
