Labor Undersecretary Warren M. Miclat led an orientation on Republic Act No. 12009, the New Government Procurement Act, on 10 March 2025, at the DOLE Central Office. Organized by the DOLE Bids and Awards Committee (BAC), Administrative Service, Financial Management Service, and Human Resource Development Service, the event introduced DOLE program managers and process owners to the law’s key features, implementing rules, and related regulations.
Miclat, in his opening address, emphasized the law’s role in ensuring more efficient and accountable procurement processes within the department. Also in attendance were Information and Publication Service Director Rosalinda P. Pineda, Legal Service Director Gilbert O. Cacatian, Financial Management Service OIC Edithliane P. Tadeo, and Internal Audit Service OIC Roderick D. Roldan, who echoed Miclat’s call for stricter compliance and transparency.
