The Southern Police District (SPD) demonstrated its dominance in law enforcement, leading all National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) police districts in apprehending fugitives.

A report covering the period from 29 December 2024 to 8 February 2025 showed that the SPD successfully arrested a staggering 413 wanted individuals, reinforcing its relentless pursuit of justice and public safety.

Those captured included 71 top most wanted persons, 106 other most wanted individuals, and 236 additional wanted suspects.

The arrests were the result of intensified intelligence-driven operations, strategic manhunts and seamless coordination across SPD stations, further solidifying the SPD’s reputation as a formidable force in crime suppression.

SPD director PBGen. Manuel J. Abrugena praised the tireless dedication and vigilance of SPD personnel in executing their duties with excellence.

“I extend my deepest gratitude to our officers and personnel for their firm determination and commitment to upholding justice. This achievement is a testament to the SPD’s resolute effort to maintain peace and security in our communities,” Abrugena said.

He also reaffirmed the SPD’s ironclad commitment to pursuing fugitives, ensuring that those who attempt to evade justice are swiftly captured and held accountable. Furthermore, he called on the public’s continued support, emphasizing the importance of community cooperation in tracking down criminals.

Under the leadership of NCRPO acting director PBGen. Anthony A. Aberin, the SPD remains at the forefront of intensified anti-crime operations, working in tandem with other law enforcement agencies to ensure that justice prevails and criminal activities are effectively dismantled.

Abrugena vowed that with a steadfast commitment to law enforcement excellence, the SPD will continue its aggressive crackdown on fugitives, ensuring that Metro Manila remains a safer place for all.
