A man was nabbed during an anti-illegal firearms operation in Taguig City, the Southern Police District (SPD) reported Wednesday.
According to the SPD, the suspect, identified only as “Clarence,” was arrested Tuesday afternoon in front of Mercury Drug at Arcadia Square, JP Rizal Extension, Barangay 25, Cembo. The arrest stemmed from information provided by a confidential informant about a planned firearms sale.
The Taguig City Police and members of the District Special Operations Unit (DSOU) conducted the buy-bust operation.
Seized from “Clarence” were a black Smith & Wesson .38 revolver, five live rounds of ammunition, a mobile phone, and a marked bill.
The suspect and the confiscated items were turned over to the DSOU for documentation and for the filing of charges for violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Act.
