The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has set a new monthly wage for kasambahays (domestic workers) in the National Capital Region (NCR).
This comes after the National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC) affirmed Wage Order No. NCR-DW-05 on 19 December, which grants a P500 monthly hike for kasambahays across NCR.
This increase will raise the sector’s monthly minimum wage to P7,000.
The new monthly salary for kasambahays in the region will take effect on 4 January.
According to DOLE, the new rate applies to all kasambahays, regardless whether they are live-in or live-out staff.
