SORSOGON CITY, Sorsogon — A total of P6.8 million worth of illicit drugs were seized by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) as part of their Oplan Biyaheng Ayos: Pasko 2024 in Matnog Port recently.
According to the PCG, the seized drugs were apprehended by the personnel of Coast Guard Sub Station (CGSS) Matnog along with the CGK9 Team Matnog and CG Sea Marshal Unit (SMU).
The illicit drugs were said to be methamphetamine hydrochloride or known as shabu, and has a total weight of one kilogram.
The seized drugs were found after the K9 units of the CG K9 team conducted a paneling on the area.
According to the PCG, this is part of the intensified operation in the continuation of Oplan Biyaheng Ayos: Pasko 2024 led by the Department of Transportation.
The PCG added that the Coast Guard of Sorsogon, along with the Sub Stations and its Operational Control Units will continue to provide the utmost excellence in service for the safety and security of the public.
