BTS’ Kim Taehyung, widely known as V, is keeping the holiday spirit alive for their fanbase, ARMY, with his heartwarming music, even while fulfilling his military service.
Following his collaborations on “White Christmas” with Bing Crosby and “Winter Ahead” in collaboration with Park Hyo Shin, V released a special “YUNSEOKCHEOL TRIO Ver.” of "Winter Ahead" on 20 December, accompanied by a visually captivating music video.
This jazz-infused version offers a refreshing reinterpretation of the original track, blending piano, bass, and rhythmic instruments with the soothing vocals of V and Park Hyo Shin.
The special version features Yun Seok Cheol, a celebrated jazz pianist and producer. Leader of the Yun Seok Cheol Trio and a member of the indie band “Temperature of Saying Hi,” Yun is also known for his acclaimed solo projects, including the 2020 album “Tailor under The Blank Shop.”
Originally released on 29 November, “Winter Ahead” has been a commercial and critical success. The jazz-pop single debuted at No. 99 on the Billboard 100 and rose to claim the No. 1 spot on the Holiday Digital Song Sales chart, dethroning Mariah Carey’s legendary “All I Want for Christmas Is You.”
V, currently serving in the military since 2024, is set to be discharged in June 2025, but continues to leave a lasting impact through his music.
