The extent by which the controversy involving Maris Racal and Anthony Jennings has reached is truly unimaginable.
It has even reached the clergy as Fr. Joseph Fidel Roura made a homily out of the controversial break-up. He admitted waiting for another round of screenshots from the two.
“Si Maris Racal, parang siya ‘yung...Si Anthony kasi, may syota siya, si Jamela. Tapos si Maris parang nagkamali kasi love team sila ni Anthony (Maris Racal, it’s like she’s...See, Anthony had a girlfriend. Then Maris made a mistake because she was in a love team with Anthony),” he said.
“Nag-sorry na si Maris at si Anthony. Natutuwa ako doon. Alam mo, natutuwa ang Diyos kasi habang walang nagso-sorry, walang umaamin, mas lalong lumalala, eh. ‘Di ba napakalaki ng issue, lumalala. Eh, mas maraming nadadamay (Maris and Anthony said they were sorry. I was happy about that. You know, God is happy because when no one says sorry, no one admits, it gets worse. Right, the issue is big; it’s getting worse. Many are already getting dragged into it).”
Among those Fr. Roura mentioned being dragged into the issue were broadcasters Mariz Umali and Anthony Taberna and Lakers player Anthony Davis.
The priest heaved a sigh of relief when Racal and Jennings admitted their shenanigans.
“Buti na lang may nag-sorry na. May umamin na. Nakita n’yo, humupa na kayo kasi habang hindi nagso-sorry gigil na gigil ka, eh. Nag-sorry na, nakita ninyo, humuhupa na ang issue (It’s good that someone said sorry. Someone admitted it. You see, you’ve been pacified because when someone is not sorry, you can barely contain your emotion. When they said sorry, you see, the issue died down),” he said.
Why Judy Ann Santos easily agreed to do ‘Espantaho’
Judy Ann Santos did not think twice when she was offered a role in the horror movie Espantaho.
“Just direk Chito (Roño) alone, nag-yes na ako sa kanya noong tinawagan niya ako at sinabing ‘tuparin ko na ‘yung ipinangako ko sa ‘yo. Sinabi niya horror. Umoo na ako (With just director Chito alone, I already said yes when he called me and said ‘let’s fulfill the promise I made you.’ He said a horror movie. I said yes).”
The award-winning actor said she’s happy seeing the director meg a horror film because he’s in his element. She also praised her co-actors who are mostly veterans.
“Sila na nakasama ko sa pelikula, ang huhusay nila kaya ang sarap din pumasok sa trabaho (They whom I’ve worked with in this movie, they’re all great, which is why it always felt good to work).”
Espantaho, which also stars Lorna Tolentino, JC Santos, Chanda Romero, Janice de Belen, Tommy Abuel and Eugene Domingo, is part of this Christmas’ Metro Manila Film Festival.
