Ricardo Cepeda's stepson Joshua de Sequera wrote a statement on his Facebook account to insist on the actor's innocence.

Sequera said his dad was merely a brand ambassador and product endorser, and that Cepeda's name is not on any of the contracts and checks.

Sequera also posted Cepeda's mugshots.

Sequera is the son of Cepeda's partner, model and actor Marina Benipayo. Benipayo and Cepeda played husband and wife in the GMA-7 Serye  'Mga Lihim ni Urduja'.
