Arayat business permit inspector gunned down

While riding his motorcycle, a business permit inspector of the local government of Arayat was shot dead by an unknown armed assailant at Barangay Gatiawen in the town of Arayat, Pampanga on 28 October 2026.

Alwin Lapuz, business permit inspector of the Arayat LGU, was gunned down aboard his motorcycle as authorities are still investigating the motive and identity of the suspects.

The 67-year-old man died on the spot while a child was wounded during the incident that occurred around 7:20am. The child was immediately taken to the Arayat District Hospital for medical treatment.

Authorities are currently checking CCTV footages to identify the suspect while a hot pursuit operation is also underway.
