CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — The 21st City Council has approved the city government’s P9.55-billion budget for 2027, maintaining the same allocation as the current year.

The budget was approved during a hearing on Thursday, following deliberations attended by council members, the Local Finance Committee and department heads.

Submitted by the Office of Mayor Rolando “Klarex” Uy, the appropriation aims to sustain the city’s development programs and public services.

The Local Finance Committee presented the budget, which is anchored on Uy’s RISE development agenda and distributed across four priority sectors.

Economic Recovery received P1.9 billion, while Safety, Security and Human Development was allocated P4.2 billion. Institutional Development and Participatory Governance received P2.3 billion, while Regional Leadership was allotted P1.07 billion.

Vice Mayor Jocelyn “Bebot” Rodriguez, the council’s presiding officer, said the approval carries the responsibility of ensuring that public funds are used prudently, efficiently and transparently for the benefit of city residents.

The budget was approved through City Council Resolution No. 1582-2026.
