Regional most wanted person arrested in Cavite over rape charge

GENERAL TRIAS CITY, Cavite — Police arrested a regional-level most wanted person facing a rape charge during a manhunt operation in General Trias City on Friday, 9 October.

According to the Cavite Police Provincial Office, the suspect was apprehended at around 3:20 p.m. in Barangay Bagumbayan through the implementation of an arrest warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court in Pasay City.

The suspect, identified in the police report by the alias Joshua, was wanted in connection with a rape case filed in 2019.

Police said the warrant was issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 113 in Pasay City, with no bail recommended.

Personnel of the General Trias Component City Police Station carried out the operation as part of the continuing campaign against wanted individuals.

The arrest was documented using an alternative recording device, while the suspect was informed of the nature of the warrant and his constitutional rights.

Following the arrest, the suspect was placed under the custody of the General Trias police custodial facility in Barangay Bagumbayan.

Authorities said the warrant would be returned to the issuing court, pending the appropriate commitment order and further legal proceedings.

The police report did not disclose additional details about the underlying rape allegation.
