CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — City Mayor Rolando “Klarex” Uy signed an agreement on Friday with the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Regional Office in support of the agency’s programs in the city.

Uy signed the agreement with PSA Northern Mindanao Regional Director Janith C. Aves, witnessed by City Civil Registrar Aeneas Vicente Akut and PSA Misamis Oriental Chief Statistical Specialist Maria Liza M. Bigornia.

The PSA programs include the Electronic Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (eCRVS), a digital platform designed to automate and modernize the recording of vital events, including births, deaths, and marriages, as well as annulments and legal instruments.

The program aims to replace paper-based records with an integrated online network, allowing the City Civil Registry to receive documents from the PSA Central Office.

Other initiatives covered by the agreement include the Birth Registration Assistance Project, which reduces the requirements for delayed birth registration, and the Philippine Civil Registry Information System (PhilCRIS), a Windows-based software developed by the PSA for local civil registry offices.

The agreement signing coincides with the ongoing celebration of the 37th National Statistics Month.
