

A 47-year-old STL collector was arrested and 1.65 grams of suspected shabu were seized during a buy-bust operation in Sta. Cruz, Ilocos Sur on September 17.
The operation was conducted by the Ilocos Sur Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, in coordination with the Sta. Cruz and San Esteban municipal police stations, 2nd Ilocos Sur Provincial Mobile Force Company, 103rd Maneuver Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 1, Police Intelligence Team Ilocos, and the Ilocos Sur Provincial Intelligence Unit.
Police said the operation, conducted in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 1, resulted in the arrest of the 47-year-old married suspect, a resident of Sta. Cruz.
Recovered were two heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a total of 1.65 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug price of P11,220.
Also seized were a P1,000 boodle bill used as buy-bust money, a metallic red TMX 125 Honda tricycle, a black leather coin purse, a Samsung keypad mobile phone, a black shoulder bag and a piece of paper.
The confiscated items were marked and inventoried at the scene in the presence of the suspect and mandatory witnesses, as required by law.
The suspect remains in police custody pending documentation and the filing of appropriate charges under Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
