The Philippine National Police implemented a major reshuffle Friday, reassigning eight senior officers to key posts in the command group and other units.

Lt. Gen. Wilson Joseph Lopez was named deputy chief for administration, the PNP’s second-highest post, replacing Lt. Gen. Bernard Banac, who reached the mandatory retirement age of 56 on 25 September.

Lt. Gen. Neri Vincent Ignacio, formerly chief of the directorial staff, was appointed deputy chief for operations, making him the police force’s third-ranking official.

Maj. Gen. Redrico Maranan, director of the Philippine National Police Academy and a former PNP spokesperson, was designated acting chief of the Directorial Staff.

The post is the PNP’s fourth-highest position and oversees coordination among directorial staff offices in support of police regional offices and national support units.

Brig. Gen. Ericson Dilag was named officer-in-charge of the PNPA, replacing Maranan.

Brig. Gen. Benigno Guzman, director of the Police Security and Protection Group, was appointed acting regional director of Police Regional Office 11 in Davao.

Guzman replaced Brig. Gen. Leon Victor Rosete, who was reassigned to the Directorate for Information and Communications Technology Management.

Brig. Gen. Froilan Navarroza was designated acting deputy director for comptrollership, while Col. Ranie Planilla Hachuela was named acting director of the PSPG.
