

Police arrested a 32-year-old man and seized about one gram of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation in Agoo, La Union early Thursday, September 17.
The operation was conducted at about 1:10 a.m. by personnel of the Agoo Municipal Police Station, who led the operation, with support from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-La Union Provincial Office, La Union Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit and La Union Provincial Intelligence Unit.
The suspect, identified only as M, 32, single and a resident of Agoo, was arrested after allegedly selling suspected shabu to an undercover police officer.
Authorities said two heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing about one gram of suspected shabu were confiscated. The drugs had an estimated street value of P6,800.
Also seized were a genuine P500 bill used as buy-bust money, a P500 boodle money and a black Redmi cellular phone.
The inventory and marking of the seized items were conducted at the scene in the presence of the suspect and mandatory witnesses, in accordance with legal requirements.
The suspect is expected to face charges for violations of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
