  • Six individuals were arrested following a stabbing incident in Barangay New Canipo, San Vicente, Palawan, authorities said.

Personnel of the San Vicente Municipal Police Station conducted a hot pursuit operation following the incident, resulting in the arrest of the six individuals who were identified as suspects in the stabbing.

Police said the suspects were apprehended through coordinated operations with barangay officials in Barangay Santo Niño and Barangay New Canipo, both in San Vicente.

The arrests were carried out as part of the Philippine National Police’s Project POPULAR, which promotes stronger coordination and cooperation between police and communities in maintaining peace and public safety.

The six suspects were brought to the San Vicente Municipal Police Station for documentation, investigation and the filing of appropriate legal proceedings.

Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the stabbing and determine the individual liability of those involved.

Police also urged residents to refrain from engaging in unlawful activities and to immediately report suspicious behavior or incidents to authorities.
