Wild Rounds heats up, Split 2 enters crunch time

Riot Games is pushing forward with the second split of Wild Rounds: Pilipinas Open as Filipino Wild Rift teams battle for a place on the Road to SMASH 2026.
Split 2 opened with 36 teams, with 16 advancing to the group stage. Returning squads include Cubao Korea, Gensokyo, IIXWR and Bonus Round.
Gensokyo topped Group A with a 3-0 record, while IIXWR also went unbeaten at 3-0 in Group B. Bonus Round led Group C with its own perfect 3-0 run.
One of the notable storylines is the competitive return of former League of Legends PC pro Rebengga, who joined Elder Dragon as jungler. The team posted a 2-1 record in Group A.
The Split 2 playoffs are scheduled from 18 to 20 September, with the competition feeding into the Road to SMASH 2026 in South Korea in November.
Riot Games will also stage a Creator Showmatch on 20 September featuring Wild Rift personalities and gaming creators.
Shanghigh, Vannybear, Mirmooo, Christian Bautista and RauxTV will face Kitz, Kioko, Suzzysaur, Eisendhart and TitoSpicy.
Five creators are also set to represent the Philippines at the SMASH Finals in South Korea.
The tournament follows a 74-team opening split that saw Gensokyo, IIXWR, Peekaboo and Cubao Korea emerge among the strongest squads.
