Microsoft has appointed Caroline Foo as country general manager for the Philippines, tapping a technology executive with more than 25 years of experience to lead its push for broader artificial intelligence and cloud adoption in the country.

Foo previously served as Microsoft’s Enterprise Commercial director for ASEAN, where she led commercial and sales organizations across the region.

Microsoft said the appointment reflects its long-term commitment to the Philippines as one of Southeast Asia’s fast-moving AI markets.

As country general manager, Foo will lead Microsoft’s Philippine operations with a focus on accelerating AI and cloud adoption, expanding AI skills development and promoting responsible use of the technology.

Microsoft’s 2026 Work Trend Index found that 25 percent of Filipino workers qualified as “Frontier Professionals,” its most advanced category of AI users, compared with a 16 percent global average.

“The Philippines has the talent, the ambition and the digital momentum to lead in the AI era,” Microsoft ASEAN president Mayank Wadhwa said.

He added that Foo’s experience across ASEAN would help customers and partners strengthen governance, skills and digital foundations as they adopt AI.
