Four individuals, including three wanted persons, were arrested in separate law enforcement operations conducted by the Palawan Police Provincial Office (Palawan PPO) in different areas of the province on August 31, 2026.

At around 10:30 a.m. in Barangay Banbanan, Taytay, joint personnel of the Taytay Municipal Police Station, 401st B Maneuver Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion, 2nd Palawan Provincial Mobile Force Company, and Coast Guard Intelligence Unit-Palawan arrested two fishermen, aged 49 and 43.

The two were apprehended by virtue of warrants of arrest issued by Acting Presiding Judge Ryan Hartzell Cariño Balisacan of the Regional Trial Court Fourth Judicial Region, Branch 163 in Coron, Palawan, for alleged violation of Section 77, formerly Section 68, of Presidential Decree No. 705, as amended. Bail was recommended at P40,000 each.

Meanwhile, at around 3:20 p.m. in Barangay New Agutaya, San Vicente, police conducted an anti-illegal gambling operation following information about an ongoing cockfighting activity, locally known as “tupada.”

The operation resulted in the arrest of a 50-year-old farmer, while two other individuals reportedly fled from the area.

Police recovered P1,120 in bet money, four live fighting cocks, one dead fighting cock, two cockfighting blades, and a black money bag containing assorted cockfighting paraphernalia.

Authorities are preparing a case for alleged violation of Presidential Decree No. 1602 for filing before the appropriate prosecution office.

Later, at around 5:30 p.m. in Barangay Guadalupe, Coron, joint personnel of the Coron Municipal Police Station, Palawan Provincial Intelligence Unit, 2nd Palawan Provincial Mobile Force Company, and 2nd Special Operations Unit-Maritime Group Coron Sub-Base Command arrested a 49-year-old construction worker.

The suspect was apprehended by virtue of a warrant of arrest dated June 5, 2026, issued by Judge Balisacan of RTC Branch 163, for alleged violation of Section 5(a) of Republic Act No. 9262, or the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004. Bail was set at P2,000 for temporary liberty.

All four arrested individuals were placed under the custody of the respective police stations for documentation and proper disposition.

Palawan PPO Provincial Director PCOL Joel D. Casupanan commended the police personnel and partner agencies involved in the operations, citing timely intelligence gathering and coordination among units as key to the arrests.

“We will continue to pursue wanted persons and suppress illegal activities through focused, intelligence-driven, and coordinated operations,” Casupanan said, adding that the police remain committed to holding law violators accountable and protecting communities across the province.
