La Salle Green Hills (LSGH) shifted all classes to online instruction Thursday after a student posted a threat claiming to be a “shooter” in a group chat, prompting police deployment to the campus.

Mandaluyong City Police chief Col. Rey Patam confirmed that the security alarm was triggered by a message circulated on Facebook and group chats. Students who saw the post alerted their parents, who then reported the concern to school administrators Wednesday night.

Police identified the individual behind the post as an LSGH student.

Officers began coordinating with school management late Wednesday to assess campus security and deployed personnel inside the grounds Thursday morning.

In an advisory issued Wednesday night, LSGH administrators announced that classes from preschool to Grade 12 — including International Baccalaureate and Alternative Education programs — would move to synchronous online learning as a precaution.

School officials cited that the late hour prevented a complete onsite safety protocol sweep before morning classes were scheduled to begin.

LSGH administrators declined to provide specific details beyond their official statement, stressing that the decision was made to avoid taking security risks with students and staff amid recent safety concerns at academic institutions.

The incident follows a similar precaution at San Beda College Alabang in Muntinlupa City, which temporarily suspended in-person classes earlier in the week due to an unverified safety concern before police cleared the campus.

LSGH announced that classes on Friday will proceed online asynchronously, as previously scheduled. Police investigations remain ongoing.
