For millions of Filipinos navigating EDSA, the daily commute could soon become safer and more seamless as SM improves connections between its malls and major transport hubs.
Among the projects are the SM Megamall EDSA Busway Concourse and Pedestrian Bridge and the SM North EDSA MRT-7 link, designed to shorten walks while providing commuters with familiar, well-lit and ventilated access points.
The completed SM Megamall link connects the mall directly to the Ortigas station of the EDSA Bus Carousel, giving passengers a more convenient entrance and exit point.
Previously, commuters had to use the congested MRT-3 footbridge to reach the EDSA Carousel. The new elevated walkway provides a more direct connection between the mall and the busway.
The projects form part of SM’s broader push to make its developments more connected to public transportation, extending improvements beyond retail spaces to the daily journey of commuters.
