A 24-year-old security guard was apprehended for alleged statutory rape in relation to Republic Act 7610 during a police assistance operation along Macapagal Avenue in Barangay Tambo, Parañaque City on sunday morning.
Police identified the suspect by the alias Jaril, 24, a resident of Caloocan City.
Investigation showed that the 16-year-old female victim went missing on the afternoon of 30 July 2026, and returned home on 1 August, disclosing to her mother that she had been sexually abused inside the suspect’s boarding house in Barangay Baclaran, Parañaque City.
Acting on the complaint lodged by the victim's mother at about 2 a.m. on Sunday, 2 August, personnel from Baclaran Police Sub-Station 1, in coordination with Barangay Baclaran Women and Children's Desk officers, launched a follow-up operation that led to the suspect's arrest at a gas station along Macapagal Avenue at around 4 a.m.
The suspect was turned over to the Women and Children Protection Desk of the Parañaque City Police Station for proper documentation and the filing of formal criminal charges for violation of Republic Act 8353 (Anti-Rape Law of 1997) in relation to Republic Act 7610 (Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act).
