A returning overseas Filipino worker (OFW) wanted for fraud was arrested upon landing at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1, airport authorities reported.

The 48-year-old female passenger arrived on a flight from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, when Bureau of Immigration officers intercepted her pursuant to an active alert list order. Immigration personnel turned her over to NAIA Police Station 1 officers after confirming the hit.

A verification through the Philippine National Police e-Warrant system confirmed an outstanding and unserved warrant for estafa under Article 315, Paragraph 2(a) of the Revised Penal Code.

Airport police coordinated with the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group's Southern Metro Manila district unit to serve the warrant. Bail was set at P40,000 by the issuing court.
