Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr. on Monday received the Special Operations Command (SOC) Beret and Flash Badge from the AFP Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) in recognition of his support for the country's elite special operations forces.
The beret and badge were presented by Maj. Gen. Rosendo C. Abad Jr., commander of JSOC, during a ceremony honoring the professionalism, dedication and service of Special Operations personnel.
Brawner said he accepted the recognition as a symbol of solidarity with the men and women of the Special Operations Command.
"I consider it a privilege to stand in solidarity with the elite men and women of Special Operations Command, dedicating themselves to some of the most demanding and complex missions in defending our nation," he said.
The AFP said the recognition reflects Brawner's continued commitment to supporting the modernization, readiness and operational excellence of the country's special operations forces.
