GEN. Romeo Brawner Jr.
The Philippine Military Academy (PMA) on Saturday honored outgoing Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) chief Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr. with a Testimonial Parade and Review and conferred on him the Outstanding PMA Alumnus Award.
The ceremony at Borromeo Field in Fort Del Pilar, Baguio City recognized Brawner’s service and leadership in the Armed Forces.
The academy also held arrival honors, a reception and a tour of PMA facilities.
Addressing cadets at Yap Hall, Brawner urged them to persevere through adversity and remain committed to service, unity and integrity.
“There will be moments when you struggle and question yourself. There will be instances when you fail and wonder whether you really belong here,” he said.
“Take it one day at a time... serve others before yourself... stay united in purpose... trust God’s timing,” he added.
A member of PMA “Makatao” Class of 1989, Brawner is the 60th chief of staff of the Armed Forces.
Before assuming the military’s top post, he served as commanding general of the Philippine Army, PMA commandant of cadets and commander of the 4th Infantry Division, among other key assignments.
