The Philippine Military Academy honors outgoing AFP Chief of Staff Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr. with a testimonial parade, Outstanding PMA Alumnus Award, and tributes to his decades of distinguished military service, leadership, and inspiration to future cadets.
The Philippine Military Academy (PMA) on Saturday conducted a Testimonial Parade and Review in honor of outgoing Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff Romeo Brawner Jr.
The Academy accorded arrival honors to Brawner at the Sundial Area, followed by a guest book signing, a reception at the Maharlika Lounge, and a tour of PMA facilities.
During the parade and review at Borromeo Field, Brawner was conferred the Outstanding PMA Alumnus Award (Ulirang Alumnus ng Akademiya) in recognition of his distinguished service and exemplary leadership in the AFP.
In his message at Yap Hall, Brawner encouraged cadets to persevere through challenges and remain grounded in service, unity, faith, and trust in God’s timing.
“There will be moments when you struggle and question yourself. There will be instances when you fail and wonder whether you really belong here. When those times come, remember this: take it one day at a time; serve others before yourself; stay united in purpose; trust God’s timing; and have faith even when you cannot see where the road leads,” he said.
Brawner, a member of PMA “Makatao” Class of 1989, is the 60th Chief of Staff of the AFP.
Throughout his military career, he held key leadership positions within the AFP, including serving as Commanding General of the Philippine Army, Commandant of Cadets of the Philippine Military Academy, Commander of the 4th Infantry Division, and various other command and staff assignments.
He also pursued advanced studies in information management, business administration, and strategic studies in local and foreign institutions, reflecting his commitment to professional development and military leadership.
The PMA said it takes pride in Brawner’s accomplishments and the honor he has brought to the Academy through more than three decades of military service.
His leadership, service, and example, the Academy added, will continue to inspire future generations of AFP cadets and officers.
