The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has begun the second phase of rehabilitation works along Epifanio de los Santos Avenue or EDSA, covering sections in Makati City and Caloocan City.
In an advisory Friday, the DPWH-National Capital Region said the project includes asphalt overlaying, concrete reblocking and rotomilling. The works are scheduled for completion by 23 July.
Road works will be carried out mainly during off-peak hours, with asphalt overlaying scheduled from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. on weekdays.
Asphalt overlaying and concrete reblocking from Friday to Monday will also be undertaken during the same period. Drainage and sidewalk improvement works under the first phase will continue around the clock.
The agency said only partial lane closures will be implemented in affected areas, with the remaining lanes kept open to traffic.
Northbound works will focus on the stretch between the Guadalupe Bus Station and Avida Town Center.
Rotomilling began on 3 July and will continue in stages through 15 July, while asphalt overlaying is scheduled from 6 to 16 and 20 to 21 July.
Southbound works will cover sections from Monumento Circle to EDSA McDonald’s Caloocan and onward to Balintawak.
Rotomilling will continue through 24 July, while asphalt overlaying is scheduled from 20 to 23 July.
The DPWH advised motorists to expect intermittent lane closures in the affected areas and use alternate routes whenever possible.
