A suspected high-value drug offender wanted in Leyte was arrested Friday afternoon in Caloocan City during a manhunt operation, police said on Saturday.
The suspect was listed as the No. 10 regional most wanted person in Leyte and the No. 1 municipal most wanted person in MacArthur, Leyte.
Police said the arrest was made at about 5:30 p.m. in Monumento, Barangay 78, by operatives of the Northern Police District Special Operations Unit with assistance from the Regional Intelligence Division, the Intelligence Group and the MacArthur Municipal Police Station.
Authorities served a warrant of arrest for alleged violation of Section 5 of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, a non-bailable offense.
The suspect was placed in police custody pending turnover to the appropriate detention facility and the return of the warrant to the issuing court.
