A high‑value drug offender from Leyte—long listed among the region’s most wanted—was arrested in Caloocan City following a manhunt operation on Friday afternoon, according to the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO).
The operation, conducted under the Simultaneous Anti‑Criminality and Law Enforcement Operations (SACLEO), resulted in the arrest of the number 10 regional top most wanted person of Leyte and the number 1 municipal top most wanted person of Macarthur, Leyte.
At around 5:30 p.m., operatives of the Northern Police District Special Operations Unit, working in close coordination with the Regional Intelligence Division Tracker Team, Target Intelligence Packet, SSD–Intelligence Group, and the Macarthur Municipal Police Station, intercepted the fugitive along Monumento, Barangay 78, Caloocan City.
The joint manhunt—driven by consolidated intelligence packets and sustained surveillance—led to the successful service of a warrant of arrest for violation of Section 5 of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, a non‑bailable offense.
The suspect is now under police custody pending turnover to the appropriate custodial facility, while the return of the warrant is being finalized for submission to the issuing court.
NCRPO regional director P/Maj. Gen. Anthony Aberin emphasized that the operation’s success reflects the strength of unified police action and the strategic value of intelligence‑driven coordination.
The arrest of Leyte’s regional top wanted fugitive reinforces NCRPO’s message: fugitives cannot outrun coordinated police action.
