SM City Tarlac
A 21-year-old artist with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) displayed her masterpieces at the Art For Everyone 2026 art exhibit at the SM City Tarlac on 1 July 2026, showing that art is certainly for everyone.
During the opening of the art exhibit, Gwyneth Dorothy Go showcased her artwork entitled “My Treat” that shows some of the fun things she enjoy such as food, trying out dresses, stuffed toys, games, and hanging out with friends.
To Dorothy, painting is a form of therapy and self-expression. She joined Go Paint, a local community art initiative founded by Michelle Buan-Mallari. Go Paint is a welcoming arthouse and studio located in Salapungan, Tarlac City, designed to guide both beginners and experienced painters through step-by-step art classes.
The Art For Everyone 2026 at SM City Tarlac became a platform for Dorothy to display her artworks while the activity also serves a venue to promote inclusion and equal opportunities for all.
Mentor Michelle shared that Dorothy has been painting for the past 11 years as part of her therapy. Through art, she has found a meaningful way to express herself creatively, inspiring others with her talent, perseverance, and passion.
“With the guidance and support of her mentors, Dorothy has flourished as an artist, using painting as a powerful form of self-expression. Among her featured works is a vibrant painting of an ice cream, which showcases her creativity, imagination, and artistic talent.”
Art For Everyone is recognized globally with Gold at the 2025 Asia Pacific Stevie Awards and Gold at the 2025 International Business Awards, and program continues to redefine how art is experienced.
A total of 159 local artists are participating in this year’s exhibit at SM City Tarlac, presenting an impressive collection of works ranging from traditional canvas paintings to innovative mixed-media creations. All artworks are available for viewing and purchase at the Mall Atrium.
The exhibit was formally opened through a ceremonial art drip led by SM City Tarlac Mall Manager Rina M. Castro, together with Provincial Art Consultant and Curator Jared Yokte, Tarlac Tourism Officer Cherrylyn Pascua, and Board Member Harmes Sembrano. The ceremony marked the official opening of the exhibit and welcomed guests to celebrate the creativity and talents of local artists.
Art For Everyone’s core message is that art is for all, breaking barriers to make art accessible regardless of age, background, or experience. The said event also empowers creatives, providing opportunities for emerging and underserved artists to showcase and sell their work.
The event creates a thriving art community, bringing together artists, galleries, collectors, and the public in one space. Accessible and affordable, the exhibit encourages first-time buyers and making art part of everyday life.
