Comelec conducts simulation exercise for BARMM elections

The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) on Saturday conducted simulation exercise in preparation for the conduct of Bangsamoro Autonomoous Region of Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Parliamentary Elections on 14 September 2026.
The simulation exercise was participated by 500 registered voters in identified areas in Mindanao to test readiness of automated election system (AES) and all other things pertaining to the scheduled elections.
Comelec chairperson George Garcia said the simulation activity was held in two areas in the Mindanao region.
He said they tested their machines and transmission devices in Tawi-Tawi and Maguindanao del Norte.
Actual voters cast their votes while the Electoral Board members administer the use of the voting machines during the actual activity.
Aside from this, Garcia said they tested the transmission of election results from the precincts to the Comelec servers.
Garcia likewise said he is happy with the way the preparations for the Parliamentary Election because on 5 to 7 May during the filing of the candidacy it was very peaceful.
“First time in Bangsamoro that filing has no untoward ibncident. The PNP and the AFP said the poll body is in full control of the situation in the area,” Garcia said.
Data gathered from the BPE Monitoring Center, Intramuros, Manila showed Clustered Precincts #68 and #69 at Cotabato City High School (Bucana), Bgy. Kalanganan MB, Cotabato City, both reported 100% completion of voting with 100% Voter Turnout
(50 Voters at CP#68).
On the other hand, Garcia said the printing of the official BPE ballots will start next month at the National Printing Office in Quezon City.
He said the printing of official ballots will start on the first week of July or right after the simulation activity.
As part of their preparations for the 14 Sept. polls, they have started printing other election forms.
These are the election day computerized voters' list, voters information sheet, training ballots and posted computerized voters' list.
