SHFC awards land titles to 133 Antipolo families under community mortgage program

The Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC), together with the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD), awarded Transfer Certificates of Title (TCTs) to 133 families in Antipolo City, Rizal, providing long-awaited land ownership to beneficiaries under the Community Mortgage Program (CMP).
The awarding ceremony was held on 25 June in Barangay Sta. Cruz and forms part of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program.
DHSUD Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling, SHFC President and Chief Executive Officer Federico Laxa, and Rizal Gov. Nina Ricci Ynares-Chiongbian led the distribution of land titles to members of the Sitio Sto. Niño de Pasig Homeowners Association Inc.
The 133 beneficiaries are among the association's 186 members, composed of families originally from Pasig City who were relocated to Antipolo after their former homes were demolished.
Through a Community Mortgage Program loan granted in 1999, the association acquired the property where members rebuilt their homes and established their community.
Laxa acknowledged the beneficiaries' decades-long struggle to secure ownership of the land they occupy.
"Alam ko po ang pinagdaanan ng bawat isa sa inyo. Alam ko po ang sakripisyo at pagtitiyaga ninyo upang maisakatuparan ang inyong pinakamimithi at pinakaaasam-asam na mga titulo sa lupaing kinatitirikan ng inyong mga tahanan," he said.
Ynares-Chiongbian thanked the national government and emphasized that the land titles provide lasting security for the beneficiaries and their families.
Homeowners Association President Salvacion Iliw-Iliw also expressed gratitude to both the national and local governments, saying the awarding fulfilled a dream nearly 38 years in the making.
"Almost 38 years ang struggle natin at paghihirap, ito na po ang hinihintay natin. Unang-una, maraming salamat sa SHFC, sa DHSUD, at sa ating punong lalawigan na tumulong upang maisakatuparan ang pangarap ng bawat isa," she said.
The title distribution underscores the continuing efforts of SHFC and DHSUD to strengthen land tenure security and provide permanent housing solutions for Filipino families through the Expanded 4PH Program.
