A total of 460 individuals received land titles on under the Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) program of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) and the Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC) during a ceremony in Barangay Santa Cruz, Antipolo City, Rizal on Thursday, 25 June .
The beneficiaries, including senior citizens, received their Transfer Certificates of Title from DHSUD Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling and SHFC President and Chief Executive Officer Federico Laxa. Also present were DHSUD Senior Undersecretary Eduardo Robles Jr., who heads the Expanded 4PH Project Management Office, along with other DHSUD and SHFC officials.
Among the recipients were 133 members of the Sitio Sto. Niño de Pasig Homeowners' Association, who formally secured ownership of land they have occupied for nearly four decades.
In his remarks, Laxa acknowledged the beneficiaries' long wait to obtain legal ownership of their properties, recognizing the sacrifices and perseverance that led to the issuance of their land titles.
The Sitio Sto. Niño de Pasig Homeowners' Association has 186 member-families, many of whom were relocated from Pasig City after their homes were demolished.
Through a Community Mortgage Program loan granted in 1999, the association acquired the property where its members have since rebuilt their homes and established their community.
