CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — The Pampanga provincial government has declared Chris Lorenz Tanglao Fabian the "Pride of Pampanga" in recognition of his heroism during the 22 June shooting at San Jose National High School in Tacloban City.
Under Provincial Resolution No. 10319, the province honored Fabian for sacrificing his life while protecting his teachers and classmates during the attack.
Fabian's family traces its roots to Barangay Lourdes in Minalin and Barangay Dau in Mabalacat City.
Earlier, Vice Governor Dennis "Delta" Pineda led a provincial delegation to Tacloban City to personally convey condolences to Fabian's family.
The delegation included Apalit Mayor Jun Tetangco, Minalin Mayor Philip Naguit, and Fourth District Board Member Kaye Naguit.
Provincial officials turned over a copy of the resolution recognizing Fabian's heroism and extended financial assistance to his family. The delegation also paid a courtesy call on Leyte Gov. Carlos Petilla.
Pineda said Fabian's actions demonstrated that true courage is measured not by age but by the willingness to put others before oneself.
"His act will be recorded in the province's history and serve as an inspiration to the youth," Pineda said.
