The Philippine Air Force successfully facilitated the stopover of the Republic of Korea Air Force Flight Demonstration Contingent at Clark Air Base in Mabalacat City, Pampanga, from 20 to 24 February 2026, the PAF reported Wednesday.
The ROKAF Aerobatic Team, known as the “Black Eagles,” was in transit en route to South Korea following its performance at the World Defense Show 2026 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
During the visit, Commanding General of the PAF, Lt. Gen. Arthur Cordura, met the ROKAF delegation headed by Col. Nam Sun Noh. The South Korean military leaders expressed gratitude for the warm reception and hospitality extended by the PAF throughout their stay.
Cordura said ROKAF and PAF pilots and support personnel engaged in professional exchanges on long-haul and large force movement, overseas flight operations, deployment planning and operational coordination.
The discussions provided an opportunity to share insights and best practices in extended air missions, further deepening mutual understanding and operational familiarity.
He added that, in close coordination with the Air Defense Command, the ROKAF contingent’s transit was supported with efficient ground handling, refueling, maintenance assistance, flight line security and other logistical support.
According to Cordura, the seamless execution underscored the PAF’s operational capability and steadfast commitment to extending full support to regional security partners like the Republic of Korea.
He said the successful stopover reaffirmed the strong and active partnership between the Philippine Air Force and the Republic of Korea Air Force, strengthening cooperation, interoperability and their shared commitment to regional stability.
