Police Senior Master Sargent John Mollenido, the estranged husband PSMS Diane Marie Mollenido, received a subpoena in connection with a complaint for obstruction of justice filed before the Office of the City Prosecutor of Malolos, Bulacan.
According to Atty. Cristobal Rimando, legal counsel of John, “We hereby confirm that, as publicly announced by DILG Secretary Jonvic Remulla, our client has received a subpoena in connection with a complaint for alleged Obstruction of Justice pending before the Office of the City Prosecutor of Malolos, Bulacan.”
The statement was issued by the Rimando Law Office on February 12, 2026, citing, “The matter is now under formal proceedings and is therefore considered sub judice.”
“In observance of the rule against public commentary on cases pending before competent authorities, and to preserve the integrity of the legal process, we shall refrain from discussing the merits, evidence, or substantive aspects of the case.”
Rimando added that their client “remains committed to fully cooperating with lawful processes while safeguarding his constitutional rights.”
Diane Mollenido was found dead in Bulacan on January 24, 2026, while their 8-year-old son, John Ysmael, was also found dead in Tarlac on January 29, 2026. John is the primary suspect in the killing of the two victims.
As of February 10, 2026, John remains under restrictive custody. His legal team has filed a motion for his release, arguing that there is no sufficient evidence to keep him detained.
He was arrested by the Quezon City Police District on February 1, 2026. He has faced allegations of obstruction of justice and was initially tagged as a person of interest due to his decision to immediately cremate his wife's remains before certain forensic procedures were completed.
