Police arrested three men in separate anti-drug operations across Ilocos Norte on Tuesday, seizing more than 10 grams of suspected shabu and various drug paraphernalia.
The suspects face charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 following stings in the towns of Piddig and Pasuquin, and the city of Batac.
The largest haul occurred in Piddig, where municipal police arrested a 37-year-old farmer in Barangay 5, Mangitayag, at approximately 8:50 p.m. Authorities said the suspect sold a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover officer.
A subsequent search yielded six additional sachets weighing approximately 8.74 grams, with an estimated street value of P59,432. Police also confiscated a motorcycle, a cellphone, and a lighter.
Earlier that day, at 11:05 a.m., the Ilocos Norte Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit conducted an operation in Barangay 29, San Pedro, Batac City. Officers arrested a 43-year-old unemployed resident after he allegedly sold a sachet of shabu to a poseur-buyer.
