President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has ordered the swift disbursement of payments to contractors in good standing, stressing that not all contractors are involved in anomalous government projects.

Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said in a media briefing on Monday that the President directed all government agencies to ensure prompt payment to contractors who have performed well and satisfactorily completed their projects.

Castro said the directive underscores President Marcos’ resolve to stimulate economic activity even as the administration continues to investigate and address the misuse of public funds.

“Ang utos ng Pangulo: bayaran agad ang mga contractor na naging maayos ang paggawa sa mga proyekto,” Castro said.

During a meeting with the economic team last Friday, the President instructed Cabinet officials to “move forward” and prioritize the swift and efficient implementation of government infrastructure projects, while emphasizing close monitoring to ensure timely completion and quality outcomes.

Castro added that the directive also calls for stronger coordination between national and local government units in overseeing infrastructure projects.

“Mas mabilis na proseso ng bayad, mas maayos na trabaho para sa mga Pilipino,” Castro said, highlighting the link between prompt payments and improved service delivery.

With the policy, the Marcos administration aims to reinforce efficiency, accountability, and inclusive economic development, ensuring that infrastructure projects deliver tangible benefits to the Filipino people, Castro said.
