What sets the Actor Awards, formerly known as the Screen Actors Guild Awards, apart from the other awards show is that winners for outstanding performances are selected by their fellow actors. And they have picked their top contenders for this season, which covers movies and series that aired or premiered within the 2025 calendar year.

Nominations for the 32nd Annual Actor Awards, presented by SAG-AFTRA, were recently announced via a livestream on Netflix's YouTube channel. Opening the event was SAG-AFTRA president Sean Astin, who spoke of the union's history of hard work and professionalism of its membership as crucial to the union's future, saying "This level of engagement continues to exemplify the solidarity and strength of our union.”

Nominations for the individual, cast and ensemble performances for the past year were announced by Abbot Elementary's Janelle James and Heated Rivalry's Connor Storie. They were followed by Actor Awards Committee members Jason George and Elizabeth McLaughlin, who shared the nominees for outstanding action performances for film, and TV stunt ensembles.

As expected on the film front, One Battle After Another got the most noms with seven, with Ryan Coogler's Sinners following close with five. On the small screen, streaming reigned anew, with AppleTV's The Studio led with five nods, and HBO Max's The White Lotus, and Netflix's Adolescence with four apiece.

The 32nd Annual Actor Awards, presented by SAG-AFTRA, will stream live globally on Sunday, 1 March, 8PM (EST) or Monday, 2 March, 9AM Manila time, on Netflix.
