The Provincial Government of Aurora conducted a Provincial Deworming Activity on 12 January 2026 as part of the province’s observance of National Deworming Month, holding a simultaneous deworming during the flag-raising ceremony at the capitol in Baler.

The activity was led by Isidro P. Galban, Vice Governor Patrick Alexis Angara, and members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, together with provincial officials and employees of the capitol and other government offices in Aurora.

The program aims to increase public awareness on the importance of deworming as a preventive measure against infections caused by intestinal worms, particularly among children.

Officials from the Provincial Government District Hospital also provided health guidance during the activity. Public Health Officer Dra. Myrna P. Nicer, HEPO2 Dhanmark Paul Roque, and Provincial IHCP Coordinator Elizabeth Salonga discussed proper deworming practices and the role of preventive health care in reducing worm-related illnesses.

They emphasized that regular deworming is a key component of the province’s health programs to help prevent malnutrition, anemia, and other complications associated with parasitic infections.

As part of the campaign, the provincial government continues to promote the WORMS advocacy, which stands for Wash Hands, Observe Proper Use of Toilets, Reduce Exposure to Unsafe Food, Mass Deworming, and Wear Slippers or Shoes.

The Provincial Government urged the public to actively participate in deworming programs and practice proper hygiene, education, and regular deworming to help protect families and communities from infection.
