The San Vicente Health Center in Quezon City has been upgraded and formally turned over by SM Foundation, expanding access to primary healthcare services for an estimated 15,000 residents from four nearby barangays.

The renovation was completed in partnership with the Quezon City local government and aligned with Department of Health standards, allowing the facility to apply for accreditation as a Primary Care Facility.

The foundation enhances the facility’s layout, optimizing spaces to create a safe, efficient, and comfortable environment for both health professionals and patients.

Enhancements to the health center include improved consultation rooms, expanded waiting areas, a pharmacy, dental clinic, breastfeeding area, and dedicated spaces for senior citizens, pregnant women, and children. The facility was also equipped with DigiKonsulta, a digital consultation system aimed at improving service efficiency and access.

City health officials said the upgraded center is expected to strengthen preventive care and encourage health-seeking behavior among residents by providing a more accessible and functional venue for routine checkups, maternal and child care, immunization, and other essential health services.

To complement the facility’s turnover, SM Foundation conducted a medical mission that provided free medical checkups, X-ray services, and electrocardiograms (ECG) to more than 300 residents. SM Retail also distributed health kits to community members and toys to young students.

The San Vicente Health Center is the 225th health facility completed by SM Foundation nationwide and the 10th upgraded health center in Quezon City, underscoring the foundation’s continued focus on strengthening community-based healthcare.
