A suspected gunrunner was arrested during a buy-bust operation conducted by police in Barangay North Poblacion, Nampicuan, Nueva Ecija on 29 December 2025.
According to the Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office (NEPPO), the suspect was identified as alias “Buboy,” a 44-year-old helper, single, and a resident of Barangay San Pascual, Talavera, Nueva Ecija.
NEPPO Provincial Director Heryl L. Bruno said the suspect was arrested during an anti-illegal gun buy-bust operation carried out by elements of the Nampicuan Police Station in the said barangay.
Seized during the operation was one caliber .38 revolver.
The suspect is set to face charges for violation of R.A. 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
“This successful operation underscores NEPPO’s commitment to rid the province of loose firearms and to hold accountable those who profit from illegal gun trading. He further averred the directives of Pbgen Ponce Rogelio I Peñones Jr, RD PRO3 to maintain peace and order across the region,” Bruno said.
