Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 team partners with Sting Energy
Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team will begin a global partnership with Sting Energy starting the 2026 Formula One season, adding PepsiCo’s energy drink brand to its growing list of partners.
The partnership was announced through a short digital film that avoided the usual press event. A Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 car delivered the news on track, with its engine sound edited to spell out the word “Sting.” The clip quickly circulated online and drew reactions from fans and creators for its unconventional approach.
Sting Energy becomes part of PepsiCo’s wider presence in Formula One, alongside brands such as Gatorade and Doritos. For Sting, the deal marks a major step into the sport through a direct team partnership, rather than a general sponsorship.
PepsiCo International Beverages chief executive officer Eugene Willemsen said the partnership reflects shared values around performance and innovation, linking PepsiCo’s brands with one of Formula One’s most successful teams.
Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team principal and chief executive officer Toto Wolff said PepsiCo’s portfolio aligns with the team’s performance-driven mindset and brings added value to both the team and its fans. Chief commercial officer Richard Sanders added that the partnership will support better fan and guest experiences at race venues.
The partnership officially begins in 2026, with more details expected ahead of the season.
